Hey Everyone,

By now all of you should have received our newsletter telling of Brent’s latest news. If you did not, please go to Contact Us and sign up for our mailing list (either email or snail mail).

In summary, Brent was diagnosed with a Grade 2 brain tumor in 2012. He was enveloped in love and prayers. In January of 2013 he had brain surgery and 90% of the tumor was removed  (the tumor was found to be a Grade 3, a nastier cancer), followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Two years of no detectable growth followed. Relief, happiness, healing!

This April the doctors confirmed that the cancer is growing. The neuro-oncologists have agreed that it will be beneficial to have 10 more sessions of radiation followed by a more aggressive chemotherapy. Surgery is not possible because of the location of the tumor.

(We have heard these things before, but God has the last word.)

Brent begins radiation this Thursday, June 2. Please keep him (us) in your prayers.  He will do the radiation therapy in San Diego at UCSD. Some dear friends have offered us a perfect apartment just north of San Diego so that we don’t have to commute each day from Ensenada.

We say, like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18

Or in the Brent and Allyson version: “If we have to walk this road, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it and He will. But even if He does not, we will walk faithfully.”

Thank you for all your love and support.
